Basalt voters will go to the polls today to select their first new mayor in a decade and three new members of the Town Council.

Town Hall is the only polling place for the election. Ballots can be cast between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The mayoral race features Leroy Duroux and Anne Freedman, who are both current members of the council.

Three seats on the Town Council are being vacated this spring. Five candidates are in the mix for seats. They are Laurie Dows, Bernie Grauer, Mark Kittle, Jim Paussa and Glenn Rappaport.

The three candidates who receive the highest number of votes will receive council seats for four years.

The election results will be posted Tuesday night on the town government’s Web site: http://www.basalt.net.
