Vote ‘yes’ for AVH mill levy

Dear Editor:

I am writing in response to grossly inaccurate and unresearched statements that have been printed regarding Aspen Valley Hospital and the mill levy. I have worked at AVH for 12 years; it is an excellent facility and consistently receives awards for customer satisfaction. It is always the first choice for myself and my family’s treatment.

The mill levy is not a new tax, but a continuation of a tax that’s been in place since 1995. It’s just one of the taxes we pay to create a town unique in its ability to serve the public and visitors.

A Harvard Ph.D. named William Pollack once spoke in the valley. In suggesting how we, as a society, model our financial priorities for our mutual welfare he said, “If not on education and health care, then what?”

Please, for your family, your community, and your hospital, vote yes for Ballot Issue A for the hospital mill levy.
