Vote Mick for slower growth

Dear Editor:We have already voted for Mick for mayor. For many Aspen families, this is the last week of school. Many will be leaving for summer travel this weekend. The runoff is Tuesday, June 5. Remember to vote absentee on the second floor of City Hall (across from Zélé) before you leave! It only takes about two minutes! We are supporting Mick because of his own words. He is in this race because he believes “we should create a resort that is sustainable over many generations and that does not respond solely to the market demands of the day.” He supports slower growth, more affordable housing and better construction management. We hope that under Mick’s leadership there will be more affordable housing options, especially for teachers. We also hope that when our son returns for school in August we will not be surprised by another teacher having to leave our school district due to lack of affordable housing. These are only a few of the reasons why we urge you to join us in voting for Mick for mayor. Please remember to vote absentee if you’re leaving town before Tuesday, June 5.Cavanaugh and Blanca O’LearyAspen
