Vote for Teague, Paussa and Freedman

Dear Editor:

In the Basalt Town Council election today, I’m voting for Karen Teague, Jim Paussa and Anne Freedman. This election is about electing people who really know the issues of Basalt and how to get things accomplished.

Jim has been on my case during the four years I have been on council to find unique ways to engage the community in solving the real problems that face Basalt. He is committed to promoting vitality in Basalt and maintaining its unique small-town character.

Karen is involved with so many valley nonprofits she has shown her commitment to improving this valley and now is offering four years of her life, which is large amount of time away from family, to help maintain Basalt’s small-town community character. Karen is also a mother of school-aged children, and electing people with families is critical since they know the real issues of raising a family in Basalt and will protect and enhance amenities that families need to thrive in Basalt.

Anne has given a considerable amount of her time to help Basalt ward off the tragedies of growth experienced by other places she’s lived and visited. She has the time and experience to keep Basalt on track with the 2007 Master Plan and has shown that she can listen to people of Basalt and guide the council in the direction of the majority of the residents.
