Vote for Sally

First of all, we would like to thank Sally, Laura and Tommy for running for the Aspen School Board.

Many of us, except for the wives or husbands of school board members, have no idea of the hours and commitment the school board members, past and present, have put into helping our school system. So thanks, for these three, for being willing to carry on this volunteer, hugely important position of helping our children’s educational process.

In listening to all three discuss their positions and areas of concern at the District Accountability Committee forum, we think all three candidates have good ideas for change and growth as a school system.

We wish to express our personal support for Sally Hansen to fill one of the two open positions on the school board. Sally has served on many boards in our community and has helped run a construction company with her husband, Steve, in this valley. Sally will be able to make hard decisions and not allow herself to be influenced by outside forces.

We believe she will stand up for what she feels is the RIGHT decision for the children, the teachers and the schools. We appreciate that Sally comes in with only the desire to help serve our community.

Her three boys, who were very involved in the schools, are in college or graduated from college. This is Sally’s way of giving back to a school system that gave her boys, and their family, so much.

Sally will not claim to know everything or have all the right answers. We believe that she will do whatever it takes to read, study and use her intuition as a mother and strong woman to make decisions she feels are wise.

We encourage each of you to find out what you need to know about ALL of the candidates. Please exercise YOUR right to vote on Nov. 4 . Thanks again to all three candidates for caring enough to run and for your willingness to commit so much of your time to serving our children. We deeply respect you for that!
