Vote for Ireland, Skadron

Dear Editor:

My priorities in choosing a candidate for local political office are to select those who are honest, experienced, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and concerned with the future and integrity of Aspen and the valley.

Many towns in the United States have not been sheltered from rampant development and, as a result, have lost much, if not all, of their historic importance. Mick Ireland and Steve Skadron care about protecting Aspen from too much infill and (downtown) building that is too big, too dense, too tall and inappropriate.

For those who question any issue, the new Aspen Art Museum, or any other council agenda items, make every effort to attend one of the candidate forums scheduled for April 20 at the Limelight Lodge, Squirm Night on April 21 at City Hall, or the Hotel Jerome at noon on April 22. Whether you agree or disagree, these are your opportunities to learn, ask questions and get answers.

I’ve listened carefully to Mick Ireland and Steve Skadron’s ideas the positions for some time now, and will definitely support both of them, once again, for mayor and City Council.

Betty Farson
