Vote for fire bond and park for free

Dear Editor:Just one more letter folks, to you, the community of Aspen and residents of the Aspen Fire Protection District, requesting that you give five to 10 minutes of your time on May 2 to vote YES in the Aspen Fire Protection District bond election.A YES vote will secure fire safety for residents beyond the roundabout by funding the construction of a substation at the North 40. A YES vote will secure backup emergency ambulance service in town, again avoiding the roundabout traffic jumble. A YES vote will update and enlarge Aspen’s fire station, enabling our bravest to protect our residents, our guests and their dwellings. A YES vote will provide enhanced community facilities to serve our community in the future.Special elections such as this often aren’t a big draw, with decisions being swung by a mere handful of votes. So please, if you lean towards supporting the generous members of the Aspen Volunteer Fire Department, let your voice be heard by a YES vote at the Aspen fire station of Hopkins Avenue on May 2. Free 10-minute parking for voters will be available in front of the Thrift Shop.Sue Kolbe and the Aspen Thrift Shop board of directors
