Volunteers step up
Dear Editor:
Over the past several weeks, Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing has had 64 volunteers to paint, construct, clean, plant, weed and organize for the summer. Volunteers are the heart of any nonprofit, and it is with true gratitude we offer our heartfelt thanks.
Members of the deaf community and Sertoma club members from the Denver and Colorado Springs area, as well as the Pitkin County Weed Advisory Board and neighbors, joined other generous local volunteers. We had terrific meals and shared in much laughter. We are touched by the outpouring of support at the beginning of the largest summer camp in the past 10 years.
Thank you for being part of our adventure.
