Volunteers sought for Aspen mall project

Organizers of the Pedestrian Mall Improvement Project are seeking residents to volunteer on one of the six project teams that will provide input on the initiative.

The city of Aspen and Design Workshop will work with the teams as it moves forward with the project. The groups would be divided among the following interests: visitors, events, tourism and recreation; park users and general public; operations, maintenance, access, deliveries and mobility; sustainability; arts, history and culture; and the Mall Founders Committee.

Multiple efforts have popped up to keep the region’s Latino population informed about the coronavirus crisis and economic aid available for unemployed workers. A special Facebook public group called Coronavirus Aspen 2 Parachute Community Help provides answers to frequently asked questions and directs people to aid.
