Volunteers help event go ’round

Dear Editor:

Basalt Recreation would like to thank all the people who helped make our eighth annual bike rodeo a success.

Thanks to the Basalt Bike and Ski crew – Joel Mischke, Rachel Hadley, Shawn Hadley, Jay Wright, Charlie Eckart, Mike Shea and Keegan Swirbul. Thanks to the Basalt Police Department – Roderick O’Connor, Jewel Heisig and Jason Heaberg. Many thanks to the Basalt Fire Department – Gary Lutzeier, Fallon Sponar, Travis Rohe, Brooke Bishop, Kassie Thompson and David Herrera. Thank you to Emily Adams with Basalt Recreation, and thank you to Aspen Valley Hospital for providing helmets to give to the kids.

Many thanks to Michael Hutton for his expertise in running the bike rodeo and his passion for helping kids know bike safety and rules of the road.
