Virginia ‘gina’ Frances Sterrett

Virginia “gina” Frances Sterrett Weaver passed away Jan. 3, 2010 at her home in Carbondale. She was 78.

Virginia was born Sept. 6, 1931 in Carbondale to Bailey and Beulah Sterrett. She was the founder and director emeritus of Carbondale Senior Matters.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Tim, Shane, and John Weaver; daughter Leigh Ann Weaver; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Bailey Dunlap Sterrett Jr., and her sister, Annie Wallace Stevens.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at 10 a.m., at the Carbondale Town Hall Recreation Center, with Rev. Wally Finley officiating. The burial will take place Monday, Jan. 11, 2010 at noon at the Whitehill Cemetery in Carbondale.

In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Senior Matters for the Carbondale Senior Center … because Seniors Matter!
