Video and Slideshow: Aspen Gay Ski Week’s Downhill Costume Contest
The base of the Silver Queen Gondola was the festive scene of one of Aspen Gay Ski Week’s flagship events Friday afternoon. The Downhill Costume Competition and Party came alive as drag queens paraded their way down the Little Nell ski run.
Wipe-outs were common, as were scantily clad participants hitting the snow with their bare skin. The scene at the base of the mountain was like a VIP room in a nightclub, except the sun was shining and the entertainment was flawless.
Only in Aspen can you attend an event like this and see the county sheriff on stage as one of the guest judges.
