Vets encouraged to march in parade

Dear Editor:

This Fourth of July, Americans will again take time to celebrate our independence and freedom. The efforts of generations of men and women who have served our country in war and peace will be recognized by the parade entry “Thanks to Our Veterans.” The parade entry also salutes the sacrifices of the Americans serving around the world today.

All U.S. military veterans, active duty, reservists, locals and visitors, are invited to walk in Aspen’s Fourth of July parade. Meet us on Main Street by Paepcke Park at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

For more information, call Hugh Roberts at 970-927-4194 or Sally Glenn at 970-948-8278. Please call Peter Hoffmann at 970-379-1371 in advance if you need a ride or plan to bring a vehicle.

Please come join the other vets in this fun event, or give the veterans a big cheer as they walk by.

Hugh Roberts
