Veterans Day ceremony

Dear Editor:

Many thanks to those committed individuals who braved the cold, wintry day to recognize and thank veterans for their sacrifices and service to our country.

To the Streets Department for the flags on Main Street: They looked great.

To the CSOs and Aspen Police Department for the street closure: It truly helps.

Thanks to Mark and the county guys for the snow cleanup and setup help.

What a nice touch with the wreath – thank you, Ian Murtagh.

Could the music have been any better? Thanks, Jeannie and Cantor.

A beautiful trumpet, as always; thanks to Richard Sundeen.

Thanks to Darryl and Fred for their readings – touching.

Special thanks to those individuals who came forward and shared their stories.

This is now truly a community event; thanks to Paul Andersen and his Huts for Vets idea, to John Henry for the Purple Star Foundation and to Hospice of the Valley for its dedication and love.

To the Elks; what can I say but thank you.

Dan Glidden
