Verizon Wireless service down

Aspen Times staff report
Aspen, CO Colorado

ASPEN – Verizon Wireless customers in Aspen and elsewhere are currently without service, which means no cell phone calls can be placed or received, nor can texts be sent or received.

According to a Verizon representative, a problem at the network switching center that handles much of Colorado – including the Roaring Fork Valley and all of Wyoming – led to the problem overnight.

Verizon technicians are working on the problem, though the representative could give no exact time when service will be resumed.

Verizon Internet service should not be affected by the outage.
