Velda Charlotte Wren

Velda Charlotte Wren, a resident of Basalt, Colo. and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away in Glenwood Springs on Monday, June 4.

She was preceded in death by her husband Everett “Sparks” Wren and daughters Angela and Vanessa. She is survived by sons Noel and Chuck, as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Her ashes will be interred with her husband at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary in St. Louis, Mo., and some will be spread at the same location as her daughters’ ashes outside of Aspen. An open-house celebration of her life will be held at her home in Basalt from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, June 8 (please call 970-927-4736 for more information).



Velda is greatly loved, and will be sorely missed.
