Valley trail party was golden
Dear Editor:
The Golden Spike celebration Saturday was a real treat. Thanks to RFTA and local governments in the Roaring Fork Valley. Special thanks to Aspen City Councilor (and terrific ambassador) Steve Skadron for leading the Aspen riding delegation all the way to Carbondale. (We arrived alive!) The party in Carbondale was well worth the ride (good job, Hickory House) and a well-earned reward for those who rode the distance.
Simply, the trail is remarkably beautiful and user friendly. The Aspen to Glenwood trail joins the pantheon of community jewels. My thanks to all of the years of hard work and community involvement in making it happen.
One last thing: May we please have the community ride and celebration every year?

Town eyes improvements for pedestrians at Highline Road, Brush Creek
The town of Snowmass Village has its eyes on some safety improvements on Highline Road and a section of Brush Creek Road that will give pedestrians and cyclists a little more room to breathe on the side of the road.
