Up to $1,000 offered by Crimestoppers for information about Basalt robbery
Law enforcement authorities have sweetened the pot in the effort to learn the identity of the man who robbed Jimbo’s Wine and Liquor in Basalt on Jan. 9.
Eagle County Crimestoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of any suspect involved, according to a joint statement from Eagle County and Basalt.
The man entered the liquor store shortly before the 10 p.m. closing on a Friday night and brandished a knife. He ordered the lone employee on duty to open the cash register, then grabbed about $1,400 and fled on foot. The employee wasn’t injured.
The suspect wore a white stocking hat with a small visor, a black Neoprene ski mask, black ski pants and a white, puffy, down jacket. The suspect is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall and has a medium build. The suspect possibly has brown eyes.
