Unfit for Mayberry
Dear Editor:Usually I don’t give a hooey about these things because they don’t have much impact on my personal lifestyle, but I am curious whose idea this is, and are they aware that their balls could be hung in the steeple of a church? Sheesh, who would even consider tackling a concept like that in a small town like this? Someone needs to watch a few re-runs of the Andy Griffith show. Ha.Mike MaroltAspen

The town of Basalt is working on an update to its 2007 master plan. The document will be a blueprint for how and where the town will grow. But the family that has owned a 180-acre ranch at the edge of town for nearly 60 years objected Tuesday to the document’s parameters for its property.
