Undercover officers nab two in drug bust

BASALT – The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office arrested Oscar Torres-Mora, 38, of Basalt and Jesus Cruz-Mata, 25, of Aspen on Tuesday on charges of felony possession of cocaine distribution, officials said in a press released issued Wednesday.
Both suspects were in the custody of the Eagle County Detention Facility with $50,000 bonds, along with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) holds for allegedly being in the United States illegally.
According to the sheriff’s office, two undercover detectives were conducting a follow-up investigation in the Basalt area of Eagle County. While parked in the lot of El Nopal on Two Rivers Road, detectives allegedly observed a cocaine transaction between the suspects.
Detectives recovered 15 grams of cocaine with a street value of approximately $700, the sheriff’s office said.
