U.S. chamber uses Aspen

Dear Editor:

When 55 percent of the budget of an organization you are affiliated with comes from anonymous donors, your “voice at the table” is not what the organization is interested in from you – instead, they are using your name to imply that the voices of a moneyed few are representative of a larger community. The moneyed few voices of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are using their local chamber members for this very purpose.

The Aspen Chamber Resort Association needs to wake up and realize it is being played. It is time for it to sever ties with the national organization. It is embarrassing that our community is in any way associated with – much less supports – the messages of the U.S. chamber.
