Two pit bulls euthanized after attack
Aspen, CO Colorado
CRAIG, Colo. – Two pit bulls that attacked a jogger in Craig last weekend have been euthanized under a court order.
The pit bulls were killed by lethal injection Wednesday after Municipal Court Judge Kevin Peck found they violated the city’s vicious animal ordinance.
Jogger David Grabowski was bitten Sunday. His injuries included a bite mark about 7 inches wide on one of his upper thighs and a small hole on his lower leg. Grabowski told police he had to jump a chain-link fence to escape.
The dogs’ owner, 37-year-old Sandra Bernhardt, has been ordered to pay $3,000 restitution to Grabowski. She will also have to repay the city for the cost of boarding and euthanizing the dogs.
