Two feared dead in Garfield County plane crash

MACK, Colo. ” Two people are feared dead in a plane crash near Baxter Pass that was discovered by a motorist along the Colorado, Utah border.

Garfield County sheriff’s spokeswoman Tanny McGinnis said crews were heading to the site after receiving a report Sunday afternoon.

FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said the plane is a single-engine, four-seat plane Grunman Cheetah. Gregor said a motorist saw the wreckage from a nearby road about 20 miles northwest of Mack, checked on it and saw two bodies.

The plane was enroute to Dove Creek, in southwestern Colorado.
