Tribute to Robin Ferguson
Dear Editor:My tribute to Robin is to a guy who really inspired me since our first meeting in Scotland all those years ago in 1982. I very much connected with many of the things Robin loved doing … the passion for skiing, the cycling, his sense of adventure and the outdoors, all things French, good red wine, and much more. And there are many great memories I’ll cherish … our time in Ullapool, camping on your land when we first staked out the ground on Picket Pin Lane, walking to the Friends Hut up past the Maroon Bells, skiing with you and Martha in Méribel, on the Grand Montets, and in Aspen … there were some great times. And I’ll always remember Robin as the true free spirit he was, as someone who had a great zest for life, was truly interested in the welfare of others, and as a deeply proud family man. Here’s to you, mate. … You were special!Iain ReidSydney, Australia
