Transportation corridor needs help

Aspen Times writer

Dear Editor:Dan Blankenship and some of the RFTA board continue to amaze me on how they keep fighting the use of the “rail corridor.” Already, they are defensive with their statements and comments. Nobody has yet to say “Let’s build a trail on the ‘rail corridor,'” but only to allow the public many years of use by just pulling the tracks and regrading (not paving) it. After all, this was purchased as a transportation corridor, not as a museum for the rail proponents. Pitkin County’s portion (much to their credit) has their trail system in place. It is time to work on the rest of the “transportation corridor.” Besides, what is wrong with RFTA sticking some much-needed cash in their account?Don GillespieGlenwood Springs
