Tragic consequences from drinking and driving

Dear Editor:

Keep your friends and loved ones safe this holiday season and every day. Please love the young adults as if you are a mother/father and friend.

Every new year I mourn and grieve as our child, Josanna Morningstar, was murdered by a drunken driver in Pitkin County on Jan. 1, 2005. She was a child of the Crystal River Valley, worked for Skico and was a bright, positive person. Her life ended needlessly and way too young.

Please don’t drink and drive … an unknown person crashed and killed our only child. The hurt and loss are still very sad and deep.

Janelle Honer
