Toughing it out

Dear Editor:

Sometimes we have the opportunity to be amazed: A wind storm with sustained 30 mile per hour winds and gusts well over 60 greeted the Highlands faithful climbing the Bowl this past Saturday. Due to the winds, at times all of the guests were either lying down or on all fours during their ascent from B-four to the peak. What a special community of skiers, snowboarders and athletes that grace this valley, so driven to enjoy this sport that a day of hellacious wind can not deter.

At the Highlands, we rely on our guests to provide the skier compaction needed each storm to further our ongoing stability efforts. On a day like Saturday it is not an easy task.

Our humble thanks and love …
