Top-notch ski racing

Dear Editor:Last week Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club was proud to host a fantastic week of ski racing on Aspen Mountain. It was a first-class event, with the top finishers qualifying for spots on the World Cup circuit and giving our community the opportunity to watch live downhill action with the return of one of alpine racing’s most beloved traditions – the Roch Cup downhill.None of this could have been possible without the hard work of the Aspen Skiing Co. and the Aspen community. A heartfelt thanks goes out to Peter King, mountain manager of Aspen Mountain, and to all the volunteers, course workers, lift ops, Aspen Mountain cat drivers, Carolyn Cerise from Aspen Mountain guest services and Aspen Mountain Ski Patrol.Congratulations to our athletes; whenever they achieve a podium they take your hard work with them.Jeff KaiAVSC alpine director
