Too sophisticated

I hope I am wrong, but, it seems Aspen is becoming very stratified by class – just like the metropolitan areas we came from. There was a camaraderie once here!

One could see captains of industry, movie stars, world leaders, etc., enjoying themselves at the J-Bar or the Red Onion in deep conversations with locals of all stripes. No one presumed on anyone! It just was very relaxed and fun.

Maybe our town has just become too sophisticated and wealthy to ever be laid-back and enjoyable again.

Those of us who promoted and worked to build Aspen are really at fault. We destroyed out own goose to gain the golden egg!
