Tonight in Snowmass: noise, lights
Aspen, CO Colorado
SNOWMASS VILLAGE ” Residents may hear the grind of excavation machinery and chainsaws in the middle of the night Thursday as crews fix a water valve in the main water line at the Base Village bridge site in Snowmass Village.
The town will allow the work to occur outside the normal construction hours ” it will start at 10 p.m. and extend until 2 a.m. on Friday, according to a town notice issued Thursday afternoon. The work will take place inside the fence on the project site, at the intersection of Wood and Brush Creek roads. No roadway impacts are anticipated.
To illuminate the work site, one tall tower will be erected and four large lights mounted on it will be lit throughout the nighttime project, according to the notice.
The new bridge will cross Brush Creek at Wood Road. An existing water main is in the way of the span, so a new one has been installed and was put into use Wednesday, according to Jack Hughes, with contractor Shaw Construction. Only tenants of the Snowmass Center will be affected during the switchover, according to the town. Water will be turned off until the work is complete.
