Tomorrow’s the day to find another way

Aspen Times Staff Report

It’s time once again for what has become a tradition in Aspen, the fourth annual “Find Another Way Day,” scheduled tomorrow.

Sponsored partly by the city’s transportation department, the day is set up to reward local workers and other citizens who “find another way” to get to town other than driving alone in an automobile.

“On Wednesday … leave your car at home and ride the bus, carpool, walk, bike or use any other creative means to get to work other than driving by yourself, and you can join in the festivities,” declared Transportation Coordinator Lysa Usher.

The festivities will take place at Paepcke Park, in the 100 block of East Main Street, between 7 and 9 a.m.

There will be “free breakfast goodies and live music by the Flying Dog Bluegrass Band,” Usher announced, as well as “tons of prize giveaways, including a trip for two to Mexico.”

Informational tables will be set up in the park, and free “bike safety checks” will be available to those who ride to town.

The celebration, Usher explained, is a way to “say thanks” to those who already use alternative transportation to get to Aspen, as well as a way to initiate new non-drivers.
