Tips for a monopoly

Dear Editor:This letter is for the person or persons responsible for the car wash at the ABC in Aspen. If, indeed, you are going to continue to operate the most expensive car wash in the state of Colorado, maybe you should express a little pride and adhere to some of the following suggestions, after all, we are in Aspen, you know.Try having hot water, maybe at least one day a week, maybe you could offer it as a special, like “hot water Wednesdays,” then remove the ever-abundant trash and litter from the grounds and the always-overflowing bins; fix the selection indicators so the soap doesn’t continue throughout the rinse; get rid of the watermelon-size ice chunks from the drives; repair the warning buzzers that have been broken for five years; and last but not least, surprise everyone and stick a handful of quarters back into the place every month or so instead of in your pockets. It’s true there’s no competition for 20 miles, but I really think you’d be surprised what little effort it would take to send everyone away pleased instead of pissed off.Thank you.Don DixonAspen
