Times wields hatchet

Dear Editor:

I have never met Colleen Truden and I do not know the extent of any malfeasance she may or may not have committed. What I do know, however, is a political and journalistic hatchet job when I see one.

The Aspen Times has been at the forefront of this cabal. The Times has slimed Truden early and often. Chad Abraham assumes the grail in his article Thursday titled, “DA Truden raises $8,500 to fight recall.” It would appear that being a friend or supporter of Truden or, even worse a Republican, gets you a dose of the oozy stuff, as well.

Abraham writes: “The Dec. 13 recall election could make Truden the first district attorney in Colorado history to be deposed by voters. Her opponents accuse her of mismanaging the judicial district, dishonesty, nepotism and wasting taxpayer money.” No doubt those opponents would include The Aspen Times.
