Time to drop the NRA
Glenwood Springs
The NRA is in bed with the neocons that want to restrict and end the Second Amendment. Yes, it is true. I have been seeing reports over the last three or four years how the NRA is for eliminating the Second Amendment. As crazy as it sounds, you can check it out for yourself.
I dropped my membership in the NRA about 10 years ago, when they compromised with Congress on the assault weapons ban, which, by the way, sunsets (ends) next year. President Bush has stated that he will continue the ban with no sunset provision. Attorney John Ashcroft has stated he supports the Second Amendment, unless it violates any federal or state law; that is just plain double speak.
The Lady of Liberty Act and Patriot Act 2 will eliminate any weapon other than a single shot, including pistols, shotguns and rifles for hunting. This information should appall any constitutionalists or gun-rights supporter, such as: all of our founding fathers, military veterans, not to mention an unbiased poll that suggests 83 percent of police officers want no restrictions on the right to bear arms, hunters, sportsmen and any citizen who wants to defend him/her self or property.
The American people have been lied to, it’s that plain and simple. Students in school are routinely suspended or expelled for even drawing pictures of guns or writing about them.
The government has put pressure on the medical community and social services to report any guns in the house, which can dictate the welfare of the children. Even churches have been used to do buy-back programs for the government.
Guns are only dangerous to the few elite, powerful oligarchies that want more control of resources and countries, including the United States and eventually the world. What can a person do? Drop the NRA and stay informed are two quick ideas.
