Time for a regime change

As a young woman from Lawrence, Kan., said in a letter to the editor published in The Aspen Times on the Fourth of July this year, we must be pro-Palestinan AND pro-Israeli in order to achieve PEACE.

Please support local peace efforts at avoiding war in Iraq.

As Thich Nhat Hanh said on Sept. 18, 2001, following 9-11: “All violence is injustice. The violence and hatred we presently face has been created by misunderstanding, injustice, discrimination and despair. We are all co-responsible for the making of violence and despair in the world by our way of living, of consuming and of handling the problems of the world.

“Understanding why this violence has been created, we will then know what to do and what not to do in order to decrease the level of violence in ourselves and in the world, to create and foster understanding, reconciliation and forgiveness.”

President “Select” Bush is wrong in his approach to peace. Many of us remember the oxymorons of the Vietnam War, such as “bombing for peace.”

Please do not forget to vote in 2004 for a “regime change” in the United States of America. If you live in Florida, good luck voting.
