Thoughts from Louisiana

Dear Editor:Thank you so much for your article of Sept. 28 concerning Pearlington. I live in Shreveport, La., but my parents, my older brother, and my younger sister all had homes in Pearlington. All three homes were a total loss. My parents have worked hard all their lives, and for them to be facing this at their age is so heartbreaking. They do not complain, though, as their life-long friends and many other family members are in the same situation as they are.I do not know what the outcome is going to be with the insurance companies down there, but it is so uplifting for them to know that the world has not forgotten about them and their community. Thank you for being there … and thank you to your community for their support.Claudia Ladner ParkShreveport, La.
