Thomas Owen Kearns

Thomas Kearns, a native of Aspen, died March 8, 2000. He was 66 years old.

He was born in Aspen on Jan. 30, 1934, to Maymie and Owen Kearns, who ran a ranch on Brush Creek. He served for 23 years in the U.S. Navy through two wars.

Kearns worked as a master electrical contractor following his retirement from the military.

He is survived by sisters Pat Maddalone and Luetta Whitson; wife Joyce Kearns; son Jerry Kearns; daughter Susan Barrena; nieces Marione Maddalone and Linda Hamlin; and grandchildren Katrina Bomini, Matt Barrena, and Jason Kearns.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aspen on Tuesday, March 14, at 11:30 a.m. A reception will follow at the Gant conference room.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Porter Hospice, 2379 S. High St., Denver, CO 80210.
