“Giant parade to start Wintersköl activities,” announced The Aspen Times on Jan. 6, 1955. “Make a note right now not to miss the noon events during the week of Wintersköl, Jan. 22-30. Starting with the gigantic parade on Saturday, Jan. 22 at noon, all events of Wintersköl get under way. Louie Pastore (owner of Louie’s Spirit House) is in charge of the parade, and he deserves the complete cooperation of every person and business in town. Start now planning your parade entry. If you need suggestions about what to have, ask Louie, he will have for you the benefit of suggestions made by some of our many local designers. If you need some sawing and hammering done, speak to Stan Bealmear. But in any case — be in and see the parade.”
