There’s no excuse for voter apathy

Dear Editor:

This letter is addressed “Dear Editor” as traditional, but it is meant for the young man I and three women, while canvassing his neighborhood, asked if he planned to vote. He flippantly replied, “Too busy.”

It’s still bothering me, and what I wish I had said was, “You’re sneering at a privilege that thousands of young men your age died to give you, the right and freedom to sneer. If nothing else appeals to your apathetic attitude, at least honor the memories of those who sacrificed their lives so you could have a voice in your future.”

Please vote.
