Aspen, CO ColoradoTheo (Birdie) Francis Bird, 84, died on March 4 in Carbondale.
Theo was born on Feb. 4, 1923, in Madison, Wis. She graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1949 and lived in Carbondale and Aspen for 17 years, where she touched many lives. Theo loved animals, nature and clouds over her favorite, Mount Sopris. She enjoyed photography and music, and traveled the world and lived in Hawaii during World War II.
Theo is survived by her niece, Ann Theo Francis, of Illinois.
Special thanks to the Heritage Park staff, which assisted her with dignity and patience.In lieu of flowers a donation to an animal shelter in need can be made. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
Hanukkah has arrived in Aspen
Members of the valley’s Jewish community gathered at the Albright Pavilion at Aspen Meadows Thursday for their second annual menorah lighting ceremony to celebrate and acknowledge the first day of Hanukkah.
