Dear Editor:This summer, Colorado Gov. Bill Owens (Republican), yes of course a ‘bushie,’ vetoed a bill passed by both the Colorado House and Senate approving licensure of landscape architects as a professional certification. Apparently, the governor was using a keen executive mind to better protect the public interest than the Legislature is capable of. Colorado and Vermont are now the only states not to certify licensed landscape architects as trained professionals. Please write the “un-governor,” or add your comments to a website run by Landscape Architect magazine at http://www.landscapeonline.com/research/article/6977.’W’ may be the worst president, but Owens is the worst governor in the lower 48.Sven AlstromAspen and Lawrence, Kan.
