The truth about wolves

Dear Editor:Regarding your “Tale of A Wolf Hunt” (Aspen Times column, March 19), I would like to suggest that you send the author to visit the next sheep ranch who is visited by wolves. I would like to see her report on the death of dozens of helpless sheep. They will be literally torn limb from limb. Some will have their innards torn out. Much of this trauma happens while the animal is still alive. The primary sign other than tracks that is used to determine a wolf kill is the vast amount of trauma to the animal and the blood. Some animals are left alive, either because they were too difficult to kill (horses and cows) or because the wolves blood lust was satiated. If he wants to promote wolves, please promote the truth about them.Marion DickinsonGreybull, Wyo.
