The shooters
Paul Conrad and Mark Fox shot the pictures that make up the bulk of this issue. They are the two-man photography staff of The Aspen Times. Many readers already know them, because they’re the guys with all the photo gear out on the hill, around town, in the classroom or on the sidelines at the game.
Paul, a military brat born in Buffalo, N.Y., has been a photojournalist for about 10 years, working in Tennessee, Kentucky, Utah and Colorado. He has worked for the Times since 2001. A North Dakota native, Mark has been shooting photos in the Colorado Rockies for most of his professional life (aside from a short stint in California), for publications like the Summit Daily News, The Summit Independent and other local and regional publications. He’s worked for The Aspen Times since 2004.
