By the numbers, Aspen Community Theatre’s current show, “The Producers,” is impressive across the board. The acclaimed Mel Brooks musical, which won a record 12 Tony Awards on Broadway, runs through Sunday at the Aspen District Theatre. The production involves more than100 volunteers, including a production staff and crew that manage everything from costumes to hair and makeup to publicity and concessions, as well as a professional orchestra, ushers, board members and more.

Produced by the dynamic duo of Jody Hecht and Rita Hunter, Aspen’s rendition features a cast of 29 who rehearsed 40 times in preparation for an eight-show run. As a nonprofit, ACT maintains lowpriced tickets, ensuring shows are accessible to the community at just $20 apiece. If you haven’t picked tickets up yet, visit http://www.aspenshowtix.com or call the box office at 970-920-5770. This performance is not to be missed!
