The other side of Aspen

Dear Editor:

This letter is to express my thanks to the Snowmass Ski Patrol, the staff of Aspen Valley Hospital, and Orthopedic Associates of Aspen.

I have had many wonderful ski vacations in Aspen/Snowmass, but this year my ski vacation took a different turn. I was hit by a skier on top of Elk Camp on Feb. 24 and sustained several breaks, bumps and bruises. To the Snowmass Ski Patrol for excellent and immediate care, to my ambulance crew, to my emergency room nurses and X-ray technicians, to each nurse and physical therapist, and finally to Dr. Thomas Lewis, I express my sincere thanks.

It is good for a visitor to experience the other side of Aspen ” not only how guests are treated in restaurants and shops, but also how a guest in need is supported by the entire network of safety and emergency care personnel.

Many thanks to everyone who helped me come through my accident. You made me feel safe and well cared for. With deep appreciation for the kind, professional care I received, I am now on my way to recovery.
