The new West End freeway

Dear Editor:This past summer’s traffic was at a all time high with people speeding and being aggressive drivers! My 3-year-old son wanted to ride his bike to his grandmother’s house, but it was like riding down the side of Highway 82, not a quiet neighborhood street. A stream of cars were running stop signs and speeding to get through the West End and onto Highway 82. You would have been amazed the way they were treating a pregnant mom and her 3-year-old on his bike. What is happening here? What is going to be done about it?From the hours of 3 to 6 p.m. the West End neighborhood becomes a freeway. Cars and trucks are racing through the streets, not yielding to pedestrians, cutting through closed streets, and driving over barriers to get onto Highway 82.This is a problem and needs to be addressed. Someone will be hurt if something is not done about it!Paula EatonAspen
