The mayor’s changing views

It is timely that some homeowners are suing a developer for the potential loss of their view of the mountains.

Mayor Helen Klanderud was elected on a promise of returning to the Aspen of old, but she seems to have done a complete turnaround and is now a proponent of infill (read: development) and advocates the reversal of years of protective zoning regulations.

Now unlike some of her predecessors, she has come under the influence of a non-elected committee, and of a city planner who believes that Aspenites (and visitors) should walk to the nearest intersection if they want to enjoy a mountain view.
