The gift that keeps giving

Dear Editor:

We all know April is filled with the fun of April Fools’ to the joyous celebrations of Passover and Easter. But how many of you know that April is Donate Life Month?

Thanks to a very special man, and his family, my father is alive (and well!) today. A lung transplant saved my father’s life in December. But 18 people will die today waiting for their transplant. And you can help change that sad statistic.

I ask that if you are reading this, you seriously consider signing up to be an organ and tissue donor. Your gift of life can save at least eight lives. It’s easy – visit to learn more and to sign up. Tell your friends and family about your decision.

Help someone like me to keep having April Fools’ and other fun celebrations with their mom, dad, sister or brother. Help give another family a second chance. Sign up to become an organ and tissue donor.
