The games we play

The Roaring Fork Valley is well-known for its athletic prowess. In winter, we ski and snowboard; in summer, we hike and mountain bike. But our pursuits are not limited to the great outdoors. In fact, many valley residents hit the gym regularly, and most valley kids beg their parents for a day at the pool, ice rink or climbing wall.

Fortunately, our hometowns oblige, with recreation centers in Aspen, Snowmass Village, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs. And just as each of these town have their own identities, so do their rec centers. With that in mind, we sent our reporters out to learn just what each center has to offer, how much it costs, and who’s spending their time in the pool or in the gym.
