Located in the Sky Hotel, 39° is an upscale bar with a laid back attitude, fireside lounge and a window which opens to the hot tub and outdoor bar. This is a great place to meet friends for cocktails. The open and uncluttered bar creates a comfortable atmosphere with its low cocktail tables and big leather chairs and couches. The bar is often filled with families and hotel guests but can quickly turn into a young fashionable place to be on a Saturday night. The grotto like feel created by the hottub and it’s close location to the gondola make 39° an apres hot spot. Spring is the real time to stop by for the outrageous closing day scene.

Perhaps the cheapest drinks in town can be found at Little Annies. They sell draft Budweisers for one dollar and fifty cents. They also run a daily special which will get you pretty twisted for under fifteen bucks. $2.75 will get a a beer and a shot. They have great food with what may be the fastest cook in the west. Little Annies has a good local vibe which mixes well with the visiting crowd. The bar is ofen filled with valley locals while the dinning area is very popular with all. This is also a great bar to look for local charcters and take in some of the unique personality which defines Aspen. Construction workers, cowboys and the casually filthy rich can all be found eating and drinking in this laid back, down to earth establishment.

The best happy hour deals in Aspen are to be found at Mezzaluna. $2 bottles of Heineken and Coors Light combined with $5 mini pizzas made with fresh ingredients and cooked in a wood fired oven make Mezzaluna the ultimate combination of Aspen chic and affordability. If you are looking to take a load off after a hard day of skiing you can sit at one of the tables or belly up to the horseshoe shaped bar and enjoy the eclectic scene. The restaurant has an open and bright feeling with lots of windows facing the mountain and a ceiling painted with clouds to add to the refreshing and airy feel.

One of the hottest spots in Aspen is Genre. Steps off the beaten track, Genre offers an intimate setting and quiet refuge from some of the other options in Aspen. Designed with a rustic, yet upscale tone, this bistro has a small dining area, a few cocktail tables and the best looking staff in Aspen. Painted in earth tones and tastefully decorated, Genre looks fresh off the pages of a trendy interior design book. This is great spot to keep in mind for part of a romantic getaway in Aspen.

Home of the “Intergallatically Famous” double maragrita, the Naked Lady is a great place to catch late night happy hour which runs from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. They offer $3 well drinks and $7 pitchers of beer. A pool table, big screen television, fireplace and low key decoration create a college bar atmosphere. This is a great place to run into a few local riders and maybe get a little inside information on the secrets of Snowmass.
